Certified Adapted Physical Educators earn extra money on the side by leading an AAHPERD Workshop. Learn more!
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (2004) requires that, to the maximum extent appropriate, children with disabilities must be educated alongside their typically developing peers. But how can this be best achieved?
Almost every physical education class includes students with disabilities. AAHPERD's Adapted Physical Activity Council (APAC) provides hands-on workshops for professionals serving people with disabilities. Our adapted physical activity workshops are customized to meet the needs of particular school districts—inclusion techniques, dealing with visual impairments, mobility limitations, autism spectrum disorders, behavior management, and more. Our workshops serve physical education teachers with varying levels of experience.
Contact us to host an AAHPERD Adapted Physical Education Workshop in your school district. Or, request a workshop at your state AHPERD or District AAHPERD conference.
