AAHPERD Hosts National Coaching Conference in Washington, DC
June 18-20, 2014
RESTON, VA, August 21, 2013 – The American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD), in association with fellow members of the United States Coaching Education Coalition, is pleased to announce that it will host the 2014 National Coaching Conference in the nation's capital, June 18-20. Representing all levels of sport in the United States with a vested interest in quality coaching education, the Coalition includes the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), National Federation for State High School Associations (NFHS), the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
The annual conference will give a platform for stakeholders in sport to come together and discuss implications for a more strategic, integrated and aligned system of athlete and coach development that can have a positive impact on athletes, coaches and sport organizations.
"We are extremely excited to host this conference and bring together national and international experts to further the fields of coaching and coaching education," says AAHPERD Chief Executive Officer E. Paul Roetert, Ph.D. "The theme for the conference is 'Long-Term Coach Development.' It is critically important that we promote quality coaching education and a system of continual coach development to consistently meet the changing needs of all athletes at all levels of sport."
