A Checklist for Designing and Evaluating Physical  Education Program Web Sites
    Michael Tucker & Grant Hill

Abstract: Creating  a physical education department web site is an excellent way to promote a  positive image of the program, because students and parents are able to find  important information and improve the lines of communication. A well-designed  physical education web site can even encourage students to increase their  physical activity levels. Improved web-site design capabilities and an  increased understanding of the content that should be included on a school web  site have resulted in more attractive, better designed, and more effective web  sites, and physical education teachers should take advantage of these  advancements in the creation or improvement of their department web site. This  article provides a web site checklist that can help physical education departments  to evaluate their current web site or create a new one. The checklist is based on the “4Cs design model,” which  consists of (1) content, (2) control (navigation), (3) consistency  (readability), and (4) corroboration (accountability).
