How to Integrate Tai Ji Quan into Physical Education Programs

Abstract:
Tai ji quan is becoming one of the most popular health pursuits for people of all ages and abilities. Many physical educators have embraced this body-mind activity for its multiple benefits and its accessibility. This article is intended as a guide for instructors who wish to integrate tai ji quan into their physical education programs. It presents the current research that reveals the numerous benefits of the discipline and discusses the rationales for integrating this health-oriented activity. For educators, the article also suggests teaching tips, a sample lesson plan, a selection of assessment methods, and a list of supporting resources (journals, books, and videos).
