Introduction
Judith Rink, Symposium Editor
Abstract:
The NASPE academies present a unique symposium that demonstrates the relevance of the various disciplines of kinesiology—such as exercise physiology, sport psychology, biomechanics, and sport sociology—to the practice of teaching. The symposium includes perspectives from seven NASPE academies in response to a videotaped physical education lesson taught by a teacher candidate. This symposium provides some insight about the necessity of using multiple perspectives simultaneously during teaching.
