Journal of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance

 Issue: August 2008

Introduction
Bryan McCullick & Ang Chen, Feature Editors

Abstract:
The curricular content being taught in K-12 schools and in colleges as kinesiology or exercise science is inconsistent or sometimes even totally different. This discrepancy in the content has created curriculum misalignment. A panel of distinguished scholars came together to discuss and debate this issue at the 2007 AAHPERD National Convention and Exposition in Baltimore. The forum was one of the best-attended in NASPE’s history and received overwhelmingly positive feedback, which is why the scholars were asked to put their talks into writing for this feature.
