Dawn Sandt
Abstract:
Social stories are a valuable communication tool for physical educators who teach children with autism. A thoughtful, well-constructed social story can promote positive behaviors in children with autism within the physical education setting. This article briefly discusses the available literature concerning social stories and examines the potential benefits of using these stories in physical education. Suggestions for creating and implementing social stories are also provided.
