The Research Consortium, 1977–2010: Contributions, Milestones, and Trends

Abstract: Research and innovation are a cornerstone of any progressive organization. The Research Consortium (RC) has served as the principal organization fulfilling this function on behalf of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) throughout much of its history. The RC is an organization of approximately 5,000 members, including more than 350 fellows, with representation from every national and district association within AAHPERD. This article traces the history and reviews the accomplishments and goals of the RC.
