Well Researched, Yet Little Understood: Young Adults and Physical Activity
Donetta Cothran & Pamela Hodges Kulinna
Abstract:
This article looks at pedagogy and the lack of information that currently exists about it in relation to young adults. It also addresses the role that participant cognition plays in understanding physical activity levels in young adults. This age group has distinct education needs that are largely unknown, because until now, professionals have largely ignored physical activity programming for young adults. Young adults’ past experiences and personal needs affect their desire to participate in physical activity, and this must be addressed when attempting to encourage activity after college.
