Winning Strategies for Passing Praxis I and II
Linda Rikard & Luanne Norden

Abstract:
Praxis I and II tests are designed to evaluate skills and knowledge of prospective teachers seeking licensure. Preparation for these tests includes different strategies depending on the needs of the test taker. Successful completion of Praxis I and II is critical for individuals seeking positions in schools located in states with this requirement. Accredited teacher education programs in health and physical education within universities provide support for test preparation for the Praxis series. Having students prepare well for the reading, writing, math, and content knowledge tests is vital for the health of teacher education programs as well as the students that they serve. This article provides preparation strategies for passing Praxis I and II tests by enabling students to customize their strategies and for teacher educators to use as supplemental information when advising students.
