The Native American Dance Legacy, Introduction

Abstract: Educational experiences in any of the major content areas—including but not limited to the arts and humanities, dance, and physical education—are significantly enhanced by infusing Native American concepts into traditional teaching formats. Dance education is the primary focus of this feature; however, much of the information in the articles can have an impact in the classroom. By combining innovative lesson plans and teaching, teachers can engage students in the Native American cultural experience.
