A Checklist for Designing and Evaluating Physical Education Program Web Sites
Michael Tucker & Grant Hill
Abstract: Many K-12 schools have been using the Internet as an informational and an educational tool. A physical education department web site is an excellent method of providing program information to parents and students and of promoting physical education. Improved web-site design capabilities and increased understanding of the content has generally resulted in more attractive, better designed, and effective web sites. This article describes the web-page-design guidelines known as the "4C design model," which consists of content (information), control (layout, navigation), consistency (design, readability), and corroboration (accountability). The article also provides a Web Site Checklist that can help physical education departments evaluate their current web site or create a new one.
