Integrating Digital Video Technology in the Classroom

Abstract: Digital video technology can be a powerful tool for teaching and learning. It enables students to develop a variety of skills including research, communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and other higher-order critical-thinking skills. In addition, digital video technology has the potential to enrich university classroom curricula, enhance authentic and meaningful pedagogical experiences, and provide new and sophisticated ways to improve student learning. The purpose of this article is to describe the benefits of creating a digital video and the essential tools needed (i.e., hardware and software). Also, the article provides examples of digital video projects that can be assigned to students and the strategies for assessing them.
