Introduction
Drew Zwald, Feature Editor
Abstract: The purpose of this feature is to provide college personnel associated with the administration and teaching of instructional physical activity programs in higher education with the tools to initiate, strengthen, and promote their programs. Now is a crucial time to present this information because of the current state of higher education. Institutions are experiencing financial woes, severe competition from neighboring schools, and pressures to achieve high accreditation standards. In response, many colleges and universities are reevaluating core requirements and decreasing total credit hours for graduation. As a result, instructional physical activity curricula at the college and university level are threatened with elimination across the United States.
