Introduction
Nancy Schmitz, Feature Editor
Abstract: Because of the increase in ethnic diversity in U.S. schools and communities, teachers continuously need new ideas, content, and insights to build a better understanding of dance from other cultures, as well as strategies to address the diverse needs of students in the classroom. This feature supplements the resources found in the books Implementing the National Dance Education Standards and Dance and Culture: An Introductory Reader (Oliver, 2009). Each author looks at a form of dance that originated in an Asian/Pacific culture and provides a different perspective.
