SWDAAHPERD & RC Collaboration

The Research Consortium is pleased to partner with Southwest District AAHPERD on their upcoming conference in Santa Fe, NM in February 2010. Research Consortium Fellows will be delivering a series of sessions scheduled for Friday, February 12 on the following topics:

• Research works-in-progress roundtable: Designed for graduate students and professors who are in the midst of formulating their research
• Writing research abstracts for presentation: Strategies and tips for writing high quality abstracts
• Physical activity research: A panel discussion focused on various topics and issues around doing research related to physical activity
• Grants: Strategies and issues related to identifying and writing external grants

Presenters include 2010 SWDAAHPERD keynoters Monica Lounsbery (University of Nevada-Las Vegas), Thom McKenzie (San Diego State University-Emeritus), Hans van der Mars (Arizona State University), as well as 2010 SWDAAHPERD Scholar Michael Young (New Mexico State University) and Pamela Hodges Kulinna (Arizona State University).
