2012 Research Consortium Awards and Honors

The Research Consortium presents the Research Writing Award to the author(s) of articles from the previous year’s volume of Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport. Up to three articles may be awarded this honor based on significance of the research and quality of the writing. The following article was selected from the 2011 volume:

Gilmour Reeve

The Research Consortium Distinguished Service Award, given to a Fellow or Member of the Research Consortium who has made significant contributions to Research Consortium affairs for an extended period of time, was presented to T. Gilmour Reeve. His service over the past four decades has impacted the RC in many significant ways. He has answered yes countless times over the years when asked to serve on committees, special projects and of course – as editor in chief of Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport.

Graduate and Undergraduate winners

The Research Consortium Graduate Student Research Award, presented by the Research Consortium for outstanding research presented on the RC conference program by a graduate student, this year was awarded to David Phillips, University of Utah for his abstract entitled "The Effect of Vigorous Intensity Acute Exercise on Mathematics Test Performance".

The Research Consortium Undergraduate Student Research Award, presented by the Research Consortium for outstanding research presented on the RC conference program by an undergraduate student, this year was awarded to Sean A. Busse, University of North Texas for his abstract entitled "Elementary School Students' Motor Skill Competence: Grade and Gender Differences"
