The Research Consortium presents the Research Writing Award to the author(s) of articles from the previous year’s volume of Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport. Up to three articles are awarded this honor based on significance of the research and quality of the writing. The following articles were selected from the 2010 volume:

Jennifer A. Bhalla and Maureen R. Weiss A Cross-Cultural Perspective of Parental Influence on Female Adolescents' Achievement Beliefs and Behaviors in Sport and School Domains
The Research Consortium Distinguished Service Award, given to a Fellow or Member of the Research Consortium who has made significant contributions to Research Consortium affairs for an extended period of time, was presented to James R. Morrow, Jr. His service over the past four decades has impacted the RC in many significant ways. He has answered yes countless times over the years when asked to serve on committees, special projects and of course – as editor in chief of Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport.
The Research Consortium Graduate Student Research Award, presented by the Research Consortium for outstanding research presented on the RC conference program by a graduate student, this year was awarded to Xiangli Gu, Louisiana State University for her abstract entitled "Examining Students' Motivation, Physical Activity, and Health-related Quality of Life."
The Research Consortium Undergraduate Student Research Award, presented by the Research Consortium for outstanding research presented on the RC conference program by an undergraduate student, this year was awarded to Candace A. Yonashiro, Pacific University for her abstract entitled "Influence of Hawaiian Culture on Dietary Behaviors of College Students."
Research Consortium Service Awards
The Research Consortium also recognized outgoing Executive Board members for their contributions: Past President, Susan J. Hall; AAHE Representative Jeffrey K. Clark, NDA Representative Theresa Purcell Cone, and NAGWS Representative Heidi Grappendorf.
The following individuals serving the Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport were also acknowledged for their significant contributions to the journal: Roberta E.
