Research Consortium Fellow Program

RC fellow programFellow status is reserved for members who have made significant and sustained contributions to scholarship (research and creative activity) and related service in the areas of concern to AAHPERD. The purpose of Fellow status is to promote scholarship as an integral component of AAHPERD as well as to:

  • recognize accomplishments in scholarship by Research Consortium members
  • recognize and promote participation in the Research Consortium
  • identify the voting membership for Research Consortium Bylaws revisions and the base of leadership for the Research Consortium
Research Consortium Fellow Criteria and Nomination Information

Current/active Research Consortium Fellows nominate members for Fellow status. Members interested in being nominated should consult the Fellows list to the right to identify and contact a Fellow who may be able to serve as a nominator. Note that most, but not all Fellows have opted to be included in the online listing. Please consult the Research Consortium Director at: research@aahperd.org, should you have any question about a member being a Fellow who is not listed.

Timeline: Nomination materials are due annually the first of November and nominees are notified of review outcome in late January.

Induction: Nominees recommended by the Research Consortium Credentials Committee for advancement to Fellow are inducted at the AAHPERD National Convention. Attendance at the induction ceremony is a requirement for nominees who are accepted as candidates.

Nomination Materials: Nomination forms are updated and posted annually each summer. The criteria and selection information document remains posted below for reference. Note that this criteria document is subject to change, if there is a positive vote of RC Fellows to revise the criteria. It is anticipated that criteria revisions will be proposed at the 2012 RC Business Meeting in Boston.
