The purpose of Fellow status is to promote scholarship as an integral component of AAHPERD as well as to:
Current/active Research Consortium Fellows nominate members for Fellow status. Members interested in being nominated should consult the Fellows list below to identify and contact a Fellow who may be able to serve as a nominator. Note that most, but not all Fellows have opted to be included in the online listing. Please consult the Research Consortium Director at: research@aahperd.org, should you have any question about a member being a Fellow who is not listed via the link below.
Timeline: Nomination materials for consideration for 2010 induction were due Sunday, November 1, 2009. Nominees will be notified of review outcome in late January.
Induction: Nominees recommended by the Research Consortium Credentials Committee for advancement to Fellow are inducted at the AAHPERD National Convention. Attendance at the induction ceremony is a requirement for nominees who are accepted as candidates.
Nomination Materials: It is recommended that nominating Fellows review the Criteria and Selection Information with their nominee. There are two nomination forms, one used by the majority of nominees who have published their work in peer-reviewed journals and presented in oral and/or poster format, and a second for scholars in the area of dance choreography. The criteria and selection information (excerpted from the RC Bylaws) is posted below. Nomination forms for consideration for 2011 induction will be posted here late spring/early summer 2010.
NOTE: Nomination materials can be prepared in collaboration between the nominating Fellow and the nominee, and should be submitted to the RC office by the nominating Fellow. Recommendation to Fellow status shall follow a favorable vote of a simple majority of members of the Credentials Committee. The final recommendation for advancement to Fellow status by the Credentials Committee is determined by review of the above listed criteria and the overall quality of the scholarship and service. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance.
