The purposes of Fellow status are to recognize accomplishments in scholarship by Research Consortium members, to recognize and promote participation in the Research Consortium, to identify the voting membership for revisions to the Research Consortium Bylaws and the base of leadership for the Research Consortium, and to promote scholarship as an integral component of AAHPERD.
The following represents updated criteria for nominees for Fellow status in the AAHPERD Research Consortium. These will apply to 2009 nominees for the 2010 Fellow class induction. Updated application forms will be posted to the AAHPERD/RC website this summer.
From the AAHPERD Research Consortium By-Laws, Spring 2008 (Section III: Organization, B. Fellow Status):
Fellow status is reserved for those individuals who have made significant and sustained contributions to scholarship (research and creative activity) and related service in the areas of concern to AAHPERD.
Publication of a minimum of three separate original research articles in nationally recognized peer-reviewed journals. Nominee must be lead author in at least two of the three papers submitted with the nomination materials. *
Presentation of a minimum of three separate research papers at AAHPERD National Conventions on the Research Consortium program. *
Nominees must meet the following minimum service requirements:
