Description: This session offers a unique and rewarding opportunity for graduate and undergraduate students to present their current research (via poster presentation) at the AAHPERD National Convention and Exposition, this year in St. Louis, MO. Participation in this poster session serves as a tremendous professional development opportunity. Students are able to engage in conversation with and receive feedback from experienced scholars in their same field. This experience can lead to strengthened research, the identification of new resources, and practice presenting at a national conference.
This session will be held Friday, April 4, 2014 from 10:45 AM-12:15 PM.
How to Participate:
Although we anticipate being able to accommodate all interested students, participation is on a first come, first served basis. By Wednesday, February 26, students interested in participating must send the following to email@example.com: name, school, email address, project title, discipline area (see note below) and abstract up to 250 words describing the project's purpose/research question(s), background literature/theoretical framework as appropriate, method and timeline. Participants will be sent information related to preparing their poster board along with a poster board number assignment prior to the convention, and must be registered attendees of the convention. (It is acceptable to send in the abstract prior to registering).
Please indicate the discipline area best represented by your research project: Exercise Sciences, Motor Behavior & Measurement, Physical Activity & Health Promotion, Sociocultural & Social Justice, Sport & Coaching, Teaching & Learning.
Since the research studies will be in various stages of completion, and have not undergone peer review, they should not be considered professional research presentations for vita purposes. Additionally, since the abstracts have not been peer-reviewed and will be accepted past the publication deadline, abstract titles and author names will not be published in the convention program or RQES supplement.
