Social Justice and Diversity Committee Awards

The Social Justice and Diversity Committee E.B. Henderson Award recognizes an AAHPERD member in higher education who, through numerous years of proven service, dedication, scholarship, and mentorship has increased involvement of ethnic minorities and/or underserved populations in AAHPERD. The nomination packet must include a cover letter explaining why this individual should receive the E.B. Henderson Award and a brief resume or curriculum vitae.
SJDC Henderson Award Nomination Packet

The Social Justice and Diversity Committee K-12 Teacher of the Year Award is given annually to an AAHPERD member who demonstrates outstanding performance as a teacher in support of ethnic minority students. The nomination packet must include at least two letters of recommendation from colleagues, and one from a student, and a brief resume or curriculum vitae.
SJDC K-12 Teacher of the Year Award Nomination Packet

The Social Justice and Diversity Committee Young Professional Award is given to a member who is 40 years old or younger who has demonstrated superior promise in the areas of service, teaching, scholarship and commitment to the goals of the Alliance focusing strongly upon the under-represented populations. The nomination packet must include a cover letter explaining why this individual should receive this award and a resume or curriculum vitae.
