While using your mobile device, click the link below to download the mobile app for this year's National Convention & Expo in St. Louis! Or you can search "AAHPERD" in the App Store and in Google Play. Please note for users with Android tablets we recommend using the mobile website rather than the mobile app.
We are very excited about this year's mobile app. It has three brand new features and all of the same great features from last year. New for this year you can now download session documents onto your phone or tablet through the app. No more worrying to remember to download and print them out before you leave! You can also bookmark your favorite documents and send them to yourself or to any colleagues using the My Briefcase feature. The same goes for the My Notes feature, type your notes right onto your phone or tablet device and email them to yourself soon as the session ends.
The third feature might be the best yet. This year the mobile app has Gamification, which allows you to use the app and have a chance to win prizes and be entered into a raffle! The more you use the app to complete session and speaker evaluations, personalize your schedule, send out tweets through the app, scan QR Codes at some of our bigger events and session and at our sponsors exhibit booths the more points you will get. Full details of rules, scoring system and prizes will be on the app.
Q: Can I use the mobile app if I don't have an iPhone or Droid?
A: Yes, we have a mobile site with all the same capabilities as the app. Again, we recommend using the mobile website for all Android tablets.
Q: Do I need to login in order to use the app?
A: No, anyone can download the app and have access to it. However, only attendees will have full access to every feature of the app such as the ability to message other attendees, create your personal schedule & profile and have the ability to complete session and speaker evaluations for sessions they attended.
Q: So, I'm not attending Convention this year. What will I have access to on the app?
A: Everyone can view each day's full agenda, the full list of speakers and exhibitors. You'll also be able to see any videos and photos posted onto the app as well as have direct access to Facebook and Twitter to keep up with the conversation via social media.
Q: I'm attending Convention, what is my username and password?
The username is your e-mail address used to register for Convention. The password is your four-digit registration ID. It was sent to you at the time you registered for Convention. We will not ask you to login again unless you logout using the "Settings" icon.
Q: I don't know my registration ID and can't find anything regarding Convention that has my ID number?
A: No worries! Simply, type in the e-mail address used to register for Convention and hit the login button. Your registration ID will be emailed to you.
Q: On the home screen there is a "What's On Now?" icon, what is that?
A: "What's On Now?" provides a real-time list of events happening at that time and any event that begins within the next 2 hours.
Q: How do I complete evaluations using the app? |
A: This is a bit different this year. To complete session and speaker evaluations for sessions attended you must find the session in the schedule and click on that specific session to pull up the details page. On that page will be a tab called "Evaluations". Click on that you will see a link for the session and speaker evaluations. Please note, for the speaker evaluations you will need to type in the speaker's name. If there are multiple speakers for that session you will need to complete repeat this task for each speaker. This might be tedious but for each evaluation you complete you will get points and get you closer to the top of the leaderboard!
Q: How do I download or find the documents for the sessions I want to attend?
A: We will admit that while you can find documents using the "Documents" icon, it can be a bit cumbersome and have a "needle in the haystack" feel to it. So we highly recommend finding your documents in the session details page. In each session details page there will be a tab called documents. This tab will only appear if the speaker uploaded documents.
Q: How do I send a message to another attendee?
A: There are two ways to send a message. The first is to click on "Attendees" and then search for said attendee in the search box (you can scroll and/or jump to their name if you want). Once you found the person you are looking for click on their name and then click on "Send a Message". If the send a message box is faded out then that attendee has selected not to receive messages. The other option is to click on "Messaging" and click on the "Compose Message" icon. This will take you to a blank message. Click on the "To" field which will take you to the list of attendees. Follow the steps above to search for the name of the person you are contacting.
Q: What about sending a meeting request?
A: To send a meeting request click on the "Attendees" icon and find the person you wish to meet with. Click on their name and at the bottom of the screen then click on the "Invite to Meeting" button. Then set the date, time and location of the meeting.
Q: How do I select not to receive messages from other attendees? Any other personal information I may want to change?
A: Go to the "My Profile" icon on the 2nd page of the home screen. The default setting is to have messaging turned on and your phone and e-mail not displayed. Please change the settings to the way you want them setup.
Q: I tried to upload a Convention photo to the album, but I don't see it, how come?
A: We need to approve all photos before they are made public and appear on the app.
Q: What about videos? I can't seem to find a way to upload a video.
A: Sorry, only photos can be submitted to the app for posting. All videos will posted by SHAPE America/AAHPERD.
