AAHPERD Leadership Development Conference

Each year in June, AAHPERD hosts the Leadership Development Conference (LDC) in Washington, DC, to provide an orientation and training for leaders within the Alliance. The LDC includes "Hill Day" where leaders have the opportunity to meet with Congressional leaders on Capitol Hill to advocate for issues and support legislation in the fields of health and physical education, recreation, and dance education. Attendance is by invitation only. Invited leaders include:

  • State AHPERD Presidents-Elect and Executive Directors
  • AAHPERD District Presidents-Elect, Representatives to the BOG, and Executive Directors
  • National Association Presidents-Elect and Executive Directors
  • AAHPERD Executive Committee

 

The 2010 LDC will be held on June 16-19, 2010 in Washington, DC.

LDC 2009: Strength Through Partnerships 

The 54th Annual AAHPERD Leadership Development Conference was held June 17–20, 2009, at the Washington Court Hotel in Washington, DC. Leaders from across the country serving at state, district and national levels came together to learn, network, and share ideas for achieving our missions, improving our professions, and meeting the needs of our members more effectively. Members from the respective states visited their Representatives and Senators.
