The professional development program that we have designed (and will continue to grow) provides practical information based on the most recently available research in the fields of health and fitness. We want to enhance every physical education teacher's knowledge and practice of teaching health-related fitness as part of a quality physical education program.
Register for the monthly webinar series to learn more about youth fitness, health, and the Presidential Youth Fitness Program.
The Presidential Youth Fitness Program, which will replace the 24-year old President's Challenge Youth Fitness Test, is a comprehensive program that emphasizes health over performance and uses The Cooper Institute's FITNESSGRAM® as the program's fitness assessment. The President's Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition has also adopted NASPE's Physical Best as the professional development component of the Presidential Youth Fitness Program.
Physical Best fitness education program works together with FITNESSGRAM® to provide comprehensive fitness education, assessment, and quality resources in conjunction with existing K-12 physical education curriculums.
Physical Best is not intended to be a stand-alone program, but rather offers the flexibility to be incorporated into any physical education curriculum.
