2007 National Health Education Standards

SHAPE America is a proud member of the coalition that developed the National Health Education Standards (NHES), which were released in 1995 and revised in Spring 2007. In 2020, SHAPE America obtained the copyright to the National Health Education Standards and in 2021, began the multi-year process to revise the National Health Education Standards.

The new SHAPE America National Health Education Standards were launched in March 2024 at the SHAPE America National Convention & Expo. They provide a comprehensive framework for educators to deliver high-quality instruction and make a positive difference in the health and well-being of every student.
